I was astonished

I was atonished and deighted by the work of art, "The Snow Queen," created by Erin Holt for her dance company. The choreography was striking and original. Erin's ability to create drama in dance is a notch above any comparison. This was no "student" production. Erin is a wizard at getting her dancers to execute intricate and difficult choreography without allowing them to sacrifice dramatic and emotional content. These young dancers can really communicate! Erin also knows how to bring out the best in each dancer, an abilty that one sees in the most talented of choreographers. Choreographing for an individual dancer's talent is a characteristic of the greatest dance-makers...Balanchine comes to mind. Snow Queen is destined to become a classic. It has all the elements needed to bring the audience to its feet cheering and I hope to see this wonderful ballet again next year.
